Synthetic, manufactured Quartz is becoming very popular in today's market. Common varieties include caesarstone, silestone, and cambria. The stone aggregates are mixed with a precise ration of quartz, color pigments and resins, and then are vibro-compated under 90 tons of pressure to remove air and compress the material into a formed slab. This slab is cured at 190 degrees for seven hours and finally polished to a high sheen with diamond polishers.
